The 1st thing that really stood out & caught my eye with the Intouch was the wrapped carbon blank texture, something you only see on high end rods.
With the grip & reel seat, there are some new & along awaited additions.
1st. Is finally the fighting butt on such a light rod, something I've been wanting for along time & the down locking reel seat, both helping with the balancing of the rod. Usually with rods of this length an over weighted & heavier reel is needed to balance the rod. These two additions allow you to use a smaller & lighter reel.
2nd. Is the dot on the locking seat sleave, assisting as a reel seat position indecater. Very helpful as a quick visual reference when setting up.
3rd. Is the Burl wood section at the top of the grip, adding to the appearance & something different to your usual grip.
The action of this rod is a medium to fast action & has a good amount of back bone yet a soft enough tip to help protect your tippet. With the back bone & it's larger guides, it makes for a great casting rod & not just for nymphing. With the extra length it also makes it a great float tubing rod.
All of these additions along with its faultless build quality makes it a very appealing & high performing rod.
All in all, the Intouch is ideally suited for the flyfisher that wants one rod that can nymph & cover the basics. This is a beautifully finished rod & it feels lighter in hand than to its spec's.
