Though antique fly fishing lures are not so popular as artificial fly fishing baits, there are plenty of fly fishers who are crazy about this kind of fly fishing lures. As fly fishing has enjoyed a long history, fly fishing baits have also improved a lot. It is undeniable that classic fly fishing baits have attracted a large number of experienced fly fishers. On the one hand, they think highly of the history of fly fishing lures. On the other hand, they like the subtle and gorgeous appearance of these fly fishing lures.

As is known to all, the primary baits for fly fishing are the artificial fishing flies that mimic real winged insects such as dragonflies, stoneflies, and mayflies. The fishing lures are imitating the activity and action of the insects to attract the target fish to bite so as to catch the target fish. There is no doubt that fly fishers attach great importance to the fly fishing baits because they have played a significant role in appealing to the target fish.

Generally speaking, there are six types of fly fishing lures, which will be demonstrated in the following passage. The reason why fly fishing lures are so crucial is that each fish species has its own habits as well as its preference for food. Only when fly fishers know deeply about this information can fly fishers be especially good at catching fish. For instance, if fishermen or fisherwomen want to catch fish living under the water, they need to choose the wet flies as fly fishing baits.

The first fly fishing bait is the dry fly such as the mayfly and the classical dry flies which are popular all over the world. The second type of fly fishing lure is wet fly. To be general, the wet fly can also be called the submerged insect wet fly, which is mainly aimed at imitating the aquatic or winged insects sinking into the water or falling onto the surface. The third type of fly fishing bait is streamers. These streamers emulate small fish so as to attract the attention of fish with colorful shapes and different colors.

The fourth type of fly fishing bait is a nymph, which is aimed at mimicking the juvenile or young phase of aquatic insects such as some stoneflies. This type of fly fishing lure can also be named a poper. It can be used to catch bass such as largemouth bass. The sixth type of fly fishing lure is the floating pupa that is a bit similar to a nymph. To be frank, it is roughly the same type as the floating nymph, which is designed to emulate the emergence of the nymph or pupa.

All in all, those fly fishing lures are common to be seen at various fishing positions because fly fishers are keen on those fishing baits. However, antique fly fishing lures are more likely to be seen at an exhibition or displayed at a famous gallery. As far as I am concerned, the classic fly fishing lures are a bit precious to some extent and the production fees of this kind of fly fishing baits are quite high.

Thus, this kind of fly fishing lures are suitable for visiting and it is helpful to propagate the history of fly fishing. With the quick development of fly fishing, a vast majority of fly fishers have forgotten the long history of fly fishing. In order to help the history of fly fishing descend, some organizations can hold some exhibitions which are not only for antique fly fishing lures but also other fly fishing equipment such as fly fishing reels which also have evolved a lot.

To sum up, there are more and more people who fall in love with fly fishing. Nevertheless, there are fewer and fewer fly fishers who can utter the whole development of fly fishing. Fly fishing should not be limited to fly fishing gear such as fly fishing rods, fly fishing wading pants, and fly fishing backpacks. Thanks to plenty of experienced fly fishers, fly fishers today can enjoy the delight of fly fishing. They have left a lot of precious materials for current fly fishers to learn. They are very excellent.
